Florida Mother Charged With Her 11-Month Old Daughter’s Death After Leaving Her In Hot Car To Attend Church
As mentioned, the mother, identified as 37-year-old Bulaine Molme, was accused of leaving her baby alone in a hot car for three hours while she attended church on Sunday (May 28).
Molme was booked into the Brevard County Jail on Thursday (June 1), and was charged with a felony count of manslaughter of her deceased child.

On the day of the incident, police were called to the Mount of Olives Evangelical Church in Palm Bay, where Molme was officiating. It is reported that the church is run by Molme and her pastor husband, who are both originally from Haiti and started the church in September 2018.
The couple also has three older children, but on that tragic Sunday at their church, the family lost their 11-month-old baby. When emergency medical service personnel arrived, they were told that the child was left in a car for three hours while her mother and other family members attended Sunday service.
Shortly after their initial investigations, detectives learned that Molme was running late to the service she was officiating. She claimed that she left her daughter in the car, believing another member of the congregation was bringing her inside for service.
However, it wasn’t until the service was over that she realized her baby never made it inside the building. She said she rushed to her car and found her 11-month-old still strapped inside her car seat and unresponsive.
When first responders got to the baby, they performed CPR, then rushed her to Palm Bay Community Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The following day after her arrest, Molme was released from jail, having posted a $15,000 bond.
Elsewhere, it is reported that on the day of the infant’s passing, the high temperature for the day was 81 degrees. Per the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, even if the outside temperature is only 75 degrees, the temperature inside of a car can hit a scorching 105 degrees.
Plus, it is reported that: 1) a child’s body temperature can rise three to five times faster than an adult’s temperature; and 2) when the body temperature hits 104 degrees, heatstrokes will ensue.
