Palatka man, 35, killed in fatal single-car crash Wednesday

A Palatka man died Wednesday night while traveling in a pickup truck north on County Road 309, state officials reported Thursday. 

The driver, a 35-year-old Palatka man, reportedly lost control of his pickup truck and exited the roadway to the right around 10:35 p.m., according to a report from Florida Highway Patrol. 

The pickup truck, according to the agency, rotated clockwise and overturned. The truck came to a final stop on the driver's side, facing north. Florida Highway Patrol said the driver was pronounced dead on the scene, which was around County Road 309 and Bryant Avenue. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt, the report states.
