A member of the Palatka City Commission announced Friday she would be running in 2024 to serve a third term with the city.
Commissioner Tammie McCaskill filed the appropriate paperwork with the Supervisor of Elections Office in Palatka.
McCaskill is running for the Group 1 seat on the commission, and as of Friday, she was the only Palatka City Commission candidate listed on the Election’s Office website.
Group 3 is the only other City Commission seat up for grabs in next year’s election cycle.
By Tuesday, no one, including current officeholder Commissioner Will Jones, had filed to run for the Group 3 position, according to election records.
McCaskill was first elected to the Palatka City Commission in 2016 and was re-elected in 2020. Election Day will be Nov. 5, 2024.
