Local couple wins big lottery prize on wedding anniversary

PAINESVILLE, Ohio (WJW) – A couple’s wedding anniversary was extra special this year after winning big bucks from a scratch-off ticket sold in Northeast Ohio, according to lottery officials.

Ohio Lottery says the couple decided to play Mega Multiplier, a $10 scratch-off game, on their anniversary.

The ticket holder, Tracie, won a whopping $100,000, beating the 1 in 312,000 odds, according to lottery officials.

The winning ticket was sold at the Giant Eagle in Painesville, located at 1200 Mentor Avenue.

Mega Multiplier has a top prize of $500,000. As of Friday evening, there are still three jackpots remaining, plus six $100,000 prizes and eight $50,000 prizes. Learn more about the scratch-off game here.

So, where do the big lottery games stand right now? The Mega Millions jackpot sits at $393 million, while the Powerball jackpot sits at $77 million.
