Children’s Theatre Summer Camp Registration Now Open

The Pagosa Springs Center for the Arts is a lively place in the summers, this year with three major musicals running in repertory: The Great American Trailerpark Musical, Jersey Boys and Godspell with over 30 professional artists, designers and performers rehearsing and performing — dancing, singing, acting — for three months straight.

And right in the middle of it all is the Whatchamawhozits Children’s Theatre Summer Camp. This super fun and wildly popular summer camp is in its 12th summer at the PSCA.

The Whatchamawhozit Children’s Theatre Summer Camp will run July 3 – July 14 Monday through Friday from 9am-2pm with shows on July 15 and 16. (No camp on July 4.)

The camp is open to kids 7-14 years old (6 year olds may inquire about special permission) and is taught by the professional performers in town for Thingamajig Theatre Company’s Summer Season.

The camp will focus on putting up the production of NEWSIES Jr, which will be performed for the public on July 15 and 16.

A theater experience teaches students the valuable skills of teamwork, public speaking, critical thinking, self-confidence, physical fitness and, above all, empathy all of which are incorporated in the form of singing, dancing and acting.

What parents say:

“Many thanks for your invaluable instruction and encouragement to all the kids in the Whatchamawhozits program. [My son] had a blast and it was a fun program to watch.”
