It has been some 7 years since My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 took a bit of a stumble at the box-office but audiences liked it a lot and graded the movie a very respectable “A-” CinemaScore. Could the third time be the charm and the follow-up film make more money at the box-office than the $59 million earned by the second movie in the franchise? It could happen. The first My Big Fat Greek Wedding was something of a Cinderella story earning $241 million at the domestic box-office. It was released back in 2002. While the sequel only made a quarter of that gross, Nia Vardalos, the film’s star, had an “incredible” time working with John Corbett on the third picture.

In June, the movie’s creator Nia Vardalos took to Instagram to share the news that “My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3” has begun filming in Greece, following pandemic-related delays. The star shared that they are currently filming in Plaka, the center of Athens.
