Greene Co. judge to decide if convicted child killer's death sentence should be overturned
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - The Springfield man convicted of killing 10-year-old Hailey Owens a decade ago is back in front of a Greene County judge this week. The former Springfield teacher’s aide and coach was found guilty of first-degree murder, among other charges, after a week-long trial back in 2017. Judge Thomas Mountjoy sentenced him to death after a jury couldn’t decide his punishment.
