On May 27, 2023 at about 4:00 P.M., Officers from the Oxnard Police Department responded to the call of a stabbing victim in the 400 block of North Anita Avenue. Emergency medical personnel quickly arrived, began life-saving measures and transported the victim to the Ventura County Medical Center.
Unfortunately, on May 28, 2023 at about 5:00 A.M. the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased, his name was Edmundo Lopez Velasco, a 33-year-old Oxnard Resident.
The Oxnard Police Department Major Crimes Unit responded and took over the investigation. Authorities, have not disclosed more information as to how or who did the stabbing of the reason for it.

The City of Oxnard offers a reward of $25,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of any individuals responsible for committing homicides within the City.
