Former Texas coach Chris Beard reveals interesting mantra for Ole Miss

Chris Beard didn’t leave Texas on the best of terms after he was arrested for assault back in December.

The former Longhorns coach was facing a third-degree felony charge for family violence, but his fiancé came out and denied the accusations.

While the legal case was still pending, Texas opted to fire Beard three weeks after he was arrested.

The Travis County District Attorney, José Garza, eventually stated his agency did not have sufficient evidence to pursue a conviction.

The head coach didn’t take long to find a new landing spot. He was hired to be the next head coach at Ole Miss. With a second chance, Beard is looking to turn around what has been a struggling Rebels program.

The Ole Miss basketball Twitter account revealed a new mantra in their facility that reads “Culture … established 2023.”

While it makes sense Beard is making efforts to implement his own style in Oxford, this feels like a post that should have stayed in the drafts. The program is now again being heavily criticized for hiring Beard, with many fans still upset for his actions that led to his firing at Texas.
