Mississippi State Football Gets Commitment From Former Ole Miss Commit Fred Clark

The in-state player has flipped his commitment to the Bulldogs.

In-state interior linebacker prospect Fred Clark rescinded his commitment to Ole Miss and flipped his commitment to Mississippi State this week.

Clark was a three-star recruit from Winona, Mississippi, and originally committed to Ole Miss back in March. However, after visiting the Bulldogs last week, he reopened his commitment and eventually flipped to the Bulldogs.

Clark and his family live 45 minutes from Starkville, and will join high school teammate T.J. Lockhart next fall as part of head coach Zach Arnett's 2024 recruiting class.

"The town of Starkville is a great place to be," Clark said in a recent interview with BulldogBlitz. "They have a great fan base and support system. Me as a defensive player, I think State is the right fit for me. I talk to Coach Matt Brock and Coach Zach Arnett almost everyday. I don't have any official visits set up just yet."

The 6-foot-2, 230-pound Clark is the No. 24 recruit in the state of Mississippi for the class of 2024, as well as the No. 71 linebacker nationally, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

Clark is the second player from in-state to commit to the Bulldogs so far this month, the other being four-star defensive lineman Terrance Hibbler, who committed to the Bulldogs on Thursday. Hibbler, who ranks as the No. 8 recruit in Mississippi, is currently the top recruit in Arnett's 2024 recruiting class.
