Wildwood to Adopt Municipal Budget Wednesday
The Wildwood City Commission meets Wednesday to adopt the new budget. The Commission will hold a public hearing before the formal budget adoption. The Commission may also adjust the times when bikes, skateboards, and other similar items must exist the boardwalk. For this year only, the regulations begin May 9th and call for these methods of conveyance to be off the boardwalk by 1:00pm.
Driver with DUI-suspended license arrested after caught back at wheel of Cadillac
A driver with a license suspended due to a drunk driving arrest earlier this year has been arrested again after he was caught back behind the wheel. Jorge Luiz Raya, 27, of Summerfield, was driving a white Cadillac Escalade pulling a trailer at about 9 a.m. Thursday when an officer ran the vehicle’s license plate and found that the vehicle’s registered owner had a suspended license, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department.

Vervet monkey escapes Central Florida sanctuary, could be headed to South Florida
WEBSTER, Fla. – A vervet monkey escaped from a sanctuary in Sumter County about a month ago and has been sighted in Clermont, according to the sanctuary’s founder. Founder Nina Vassallo told WKMG in Orlando that the monkey, named Zulu, manipulated the lock on his enclosure at the Chase Sanctuary and Wildlife Conservancy in Webster and fled about four weeks ago. At the time, sanctuary officials notified the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the Webster community that he was missing.
