Vehicles being transported catch fire on interstate in Oxford
OXFORD, Ala. (WBMA) — Firefighters respond to a commercial vehicle fire on an interstate in Oxford Wednesday evening. The Oxford Fire Department said the cars caught fire east of the 179 Exit on Interstate 20 around 7:30 p.m. The fire department said firefighters have closed all but one lane.
Jacksonville State’s 2024 football opener moved up to Thursday night
Jacksonville State’s 2024 football season opener has been moved up two days to Thursday, Aug. 29, at the request of Conference USA, the school announced. The Gamecocks host Coastal Carolina on that night at the newly renovated Burgess-Snow Field. The Chanticleers won the 2023 meeting between the two teams, 30-16 in Conway, S.C.
