After earning a passed ball walk-off win in the opener, Chesaning left little doubt in completing a baseball sweep Monday against New Lothrop. Adam Woodcock scored the winning run in the opener for a 2-1 victory in eight innings. Woodcock, who had two hits, scored on a bases-loaded passed ball with nobody out. SWARTZ CREEK, MI – More than 50 gallons of used motor oil was spilled near Crapo Street in Swartz Creek on Thursday, April 18. The Swartz Creek Area Fire Department responded to the 8000 block of Crapo Street, near Swartz Creek Middle School, and found oil floating in a small waterway that ran between houses in the neighborhood, which ran into the Swartz Creek.

Road work update: Patching work to begin on I-69 in southern Clinton County
DeWITT TWP. — Another road project could mean slower going for drivers who use Interstate 69 in Clinton County this summer. Drivers can expect to see lane and ramp closures while crews are patching concrete between Airport Road and U.S. 127 and working on the I-69 bridge over Wood Road, the Michigan Department of Transportation said. Traffic on Wood, beneath the freeway, also could be impacted, MDOT indicated.
