Overland Park Police and Fire, Game Warden and Operation Wildlife helped save the hawk.

Police said after hours of brainstorming, they found a truck that could reach the bird. A few hours later, responders successfully removed the “federally protected red-shouldered hawk” from the net.

The hawk was taken for treatment at Operation Wildlife. Responders hope the hawk will go through rehab and then be released back to its natural habitat.
