DELPHOS, OH (WLIO) - It's the most wonderful time of the year and residents in Delphos are feeling the Christmas spirit. The Delphos Canal Commission Museum is kicking off its 24th annual "Celebrate Christmas Tree Festival". The museum is filled with Christmas trees all of different sizes, shapes, and colors. Local organizations and clubs come to decorate trees that are on the first floor of the museum, and the second floor is all done by local volunteers looking to spread the holiday cheer with their own unique designs. The museum's gallery of Christmas trees is just the tip of the iceberg for folks to come and see what they have to offer and learn about the community.
Soup cook-off to be held
PUTNAM COUNTY—When you enter the holiday-decorated Schroeder Center for the Arts this Friday, December 1, you can sample a variety of soups, breads and desserts while supporting Putnam County Habitat for Humanity’s (PCHFH) mission for safe, decent, affordable housing throughout Putnam County. “Soup for Shelter” will take place at the Schroeder Center for the Arts at 162 W. Main St., Ottawa, from 4 to 7:30 p.m. This event will be an evening of hearty feasting that features soup bowls made by local school students, teachers and artists.

LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Your high school prom may have been unforgettable, but the dress you wore has likely been collecting dust in your closet for years. But don't worry; the Kiwanis Club of Lima is now accepting donations of prom dresses until January 15th. So, whether you want to free up some space in your wardrobe or participate in a good cause, you can drop off your prom dresses and/or tuxedos at Duffy's Dry Cleaners in the Shawnee Plaza located at 2505 Shawnee Road, Lima, OH 45806. The donation will be used in the Kiwanis Club's annual Diva's Den, which opens on Saturday, January 20th, at the Masonic Center, located 2165 N Cole St, Lima, OH 45801, from 9 a.m. to noon.

Liberty Arts Magnets students showcase talent at "Dancing in the Lights" recital
LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Liberty Arts Magnet School 7th and 8th graders performed Wednesday night in the school's first recital to focus entirely on dancers. Dancing in the Lights featured 11 songs focused on the theme of light. The performance included a variety of glowing props and showcased the upgrades to the Joe Henderson Auditorium's lighting system.

Summer camp provides lasting memories for ‘Royal Kids’
LIMA — Since 2000, the Royal Kids camp has become a place for children to get away for one week in the summer. Originally, the camp started in 1985 in California. Royal Kids made its way to Lima a couple of decades later. “Grandma” of the local camp, Linda Harthun, spoke at the Kiwanis Club on Tuesday afternoon to share more about the organization.
