Shooting in Oswego leaves one dead

OSWEGO, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Around 11:40 p.m. on April 25, the Oswego Police Department was sent to 100 E. 10th Street for an assault complaint.

At the scene, an officer found a man with a gunshot wound to his torso. He was pronounced dead. The victim was later identified by Oswego Police as Nathan Goodway, 31, from Oswego

According to Oswego Police, based on the interviews and investigations, it was determined that there was an argument between two people. During that argument, Goodway was shot.

Police say the suspect left the scene before they arrived.

However, the suspect, later identified as 21-year-old Jaiwann Watson from Syracuse, was found by officers from the Fulton Police Department in the City of Fulton.

Watson is charged with murder in the second degree, burglary in the first degree, robbery in the first degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree and criminal possession of a firearm.

Oswego Police also said a second suspect was taken into custody.
