Rescue team saves dog and owner from Carbon River in Orting

A swift water rescue team saved a dog and its owner that went into the Carbon River near Orting on Thursday, according to Orting Valley Fire and Rescue.

The team received a report of a dog that fell into the river and was stranded on a sand bar.

While the team responded, the owner went into the water to attempt to rescue the dog and was quickly overpowered by the cold and fast-moving waters.

Orting Valley Fire and Rescue rescued the owner and the dog after bringing them back to the shore with a raft.

Medics with Graham Fire & Rescue evaluated the owner.
