Dani Jackman tied the CIF-Southern Section record of 60 career home runs as she led the University Prep softball team to a 23-9 victory over Big Bear on Friday afternoon. Jackman is now up to 16 home runs on the season, and has hit one in five straight games, including three against Boron on March 25.

Burros fall on the road to Bulldogs
The Burroughs boys’ tennis team traveled to Oak Hills last Thursday with hopes of avenging a 7-11 loss in the first round to the first place Bulldogs, when the Burros were missing a starter due to illness. Unfortunately, half of the Burros’ No. 1 doubles team was too sick to play and the result was a 6-12 loss.
Burros tennis hosting MRL prelim and finals
This season the Burroughs boy’s tennis program is hosting the Mojave River League Prelims on Tuesday and Finals on Thursday. Originally, the Mojave River League Prelims and Finals were to be hosted by Burroughs but played at Hesperia High School. Head Coach Omer Dhar and the Burroughs Athletic Director Doug Hayes both fought for Burroughs to host the tournament on its own courts. Dhar spoke on the excitement of hosting the prelims and finals on their home courts.
