Cocaine washes up on Ormond Beach, deputies say

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — Sheriff’s investigators said someone recently found a bag containing cocaine on a Volusia County beach.

On Thursday, deputies responded after someone reported a small black bag on the beach near Seminole Avenue along Ormond Beach.

Inside, they found a “white powdery substance.”

The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office said it tested positive for cocaine.

The bag weighed a total of 2 pounds, according to a report filed by deputies.

The sheriff’s office said all evidence was secured for further processing.
