Arrest made after man stabbed six times in Little Woods area

NEW ORLEANS ( WGNO ) — A man is in the hospital after a stabbing incident in the Little Woods neighborhood on Saturday.
Officials with the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) said the incident happened in the 7300 block of Read Boulevard.
They said officers were flagged down by a man who had been stabbed. The victim told officers he was involved in a verbal altercation in the 10100 block of Curran Boulevard after he was accused of stealing money from 46-year-old Orlandeus Powell.
Man killed, two wounded in overnight New Orleans shootingsHe said the altercation escalated when Powell grabbed him by the neck and allegedly stabbed him six times in the back and chest.
He was taken to a hospital where he is listed to be in critical condition.
NOPD officials said Powell was arrested shortly after.
