NOPD: Woman run over by suspect during abduction

New Orleans police are seeking a suspect in an abduction that happened in the Upper Ninth Ward.

According to the NOPD's Major Offense Log, it happened around 9:15 p.m. Thursday on North Tonti Street near Independence Street.

According to the log, a man punched a woman in the face and forced his way into her car at gunpoint. The victim complied and drove the suspect around for around 45 minutes. The victim then tried to escape, at which point police say the suspect ran hit her twice with her own car.

Police did not say what the victim's condition is or if she is in the hospital.

According to the log, police know who the suspect is. However, the document did not provide his identity.
