Due to the cold front sweeping Central Florida at present, there are heightened chances for severe thunderstorms this Friday.

Planning the ultimate Walt Disney World day doesn’t only encompass thinking about which parks you might go to or making sure you have Genie+ and Lightning Lane planned to perfection. Mother Nature can play a significant role, often influencing the outcomes of our Disney Park adventures. The unpredictability of the weather, including severe thunderstorms, adds an element of uncertainty that guests must also be prepared for.

Significant Chances of Severe Thunderstorms in Orlando on Friday

While Disney World guests are certainly used to hurricane warnings and notices from the National Hurricane Center when planning their Disney Park vacation, there are other weather events to keep note of as well.

Most important, at the moment, is the cold front sweeping across Florida this week. As many Florida residents and Disney World visitors would know, thunderstorms swept across the Sunshine State ahead of the temperature drop hitting Monday, with effects staying on through the week.

As Click Orlando explained, when it comes to highs and lows of temperature, this will go as follows,

Most of Central Florida will wake up in the 40s and low 50s Tuesday morning. Highs on Tuesday will be in the 60s.

It will be even colder Wednesday morning, with temperatures starting out in the mid-to upper 40s. Temperatures could dip into the upper 30s north of Orlando.

Following this, due to the progression of these factors, Friday is predicted to be a “wet day.”  While the specifics of the timing, amount, and severity of the rain are not entirely known, Fox 35 has termed Friday a “Weather Impact Day” because of the chances of “heavy rain and/or severe storms.” The outlet is predicting “over 2′ of rain may fall somewhere in central Florida.”

This rain is courtesy of a “robust storm system” that is making its presence felt in the Sunshine State coming in from the Gulf of Mexico.

For individuals considering a trip to Disney World or residents of Orlando looking to enjoy the magic of the Central Florida theme park over the upcoming weekend, it is essential to be aware of potential weather challenges, particularly on Friday.

Being weather aware and prepared is especially good practice in Central Florida, where Walt Disney World is located. It is essential for guests to be aware of the Atlantic hurricane season, which runs from June 1 to November 30, though tropical cyclones can develop both before and after these dates, posing potential risks to those visiting the area.
