Cannabis, THC Pens, Handguns Recovered in Orlando Traffic Stops

The Orlando Police Department’s TAC Unit works throughout the night patrolling the City of Orlando, and law enforcement shared two recent examples of crime guns and drugs being recovered by the proactive work of these officers.




TAC Officers recently initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling on S. Westmoreland Drive. OPD said officers developed probable cause to search the vehicle, which resulted in the recovery of a loaded handgun, cannabis, scale, and THC pens. Police said the driver was arrested and charged accordingly.

In a separate traffic stop in the area of Parramore Avenue and Robinson Street, TAC Officers established probable cause to search a vehicle. Their search revealed two pounds of cannabis and a loaded handgun. Police said the driver was arrested and charged accordingly.

Local crime, guns, violence and drugs all remain problems around Orlando and downtown under Mayor Buddy Dyer’s administration, and OPD remains very busy keeping the city safe. Police remind all residents to remember, “See Something, Say Something” by calling Crimeline or 9-1-1.
