HERE ON WESH 2 ON THURSDAYS. CAN’T WAIT TO MEET A LAURA. OKAY, LET’S TALK ABOUT THE WEATHER OUT THERE THIS MORNING. 519 AND WE ARE TALKING ABOUT THE TROPICS THIS MORNING AND JUST SOME RAIN SHOWERS COMING OUR WAY. YEAH. AND WHEN WE MENTION TROPICS AND WHAT WE CALL AN INVERSE AREA, I DON’T WANT PEOPLE TO FREAK OUT BECAUSE IT’S NOTHING THAT WE REALLY SHOULD FREAK OUT ABOUT. IT’S JUST A WAY THAT WE CAN GET MODEL DATA TO REALLY GET A BETTER IDEA OF WHERE CENTER OF CIRCULATION IS WITH STORMS ARE GOING TO GO. SO WE’RE WATCHING WHAT WE CALL IN WEST 91 EL IT’S OUR FIRST INVEST OF THE YEAR, BUT JUST NO FOR CENTRAL FLORIDA. IT’S JUST GOING TO SPEW SOME SHOWERS IN OUR DIRECTION RATHER THAN DEVELOP INTO ANYTHING SIGNIFICANT HERE. IS THAT CENTER OF LOW PRESSURE. SOME SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS SPINNING SOUTH OF THE PANHANDLE HERE IN THE PENINSULA, A COUPLE OF SHOWERS AND MOST OF THAT IS FOR NOW IN CENTRAL FLORIDA. SO WITH INVEST 91 EL NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER, GIVING IT A 20% CHANCE OF FORMATION IN THE NEXT TWO AND SEVEN DAYS. SO NOT EXPECTED TO DEVELOP INTO ANYTHING SIGNIFICANT, BUT IT STILL WILL BRING IN SOME RAINFALL FOR LATER THIS WEEK. HERE’S A LOOK AT THE LATEST DATA NOW DRIVING THE CENTER OF CIRCULATION SOUTH. THEN MOSTLY PASSING BETWEEN OR THROUGH THE STRAITS OF FLORIDA, RATHER, KIND OF BETWEEN THE THE PENINSULA AND CUBA AS WELL. AND THEN EVENTUALLY MOVING OUT INTO THE ATLANTIC. SO WITH THAT, I DID LOWER THE RAIN CHANCES FOR THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS, JUST A SMIDGE. WE’RE DOWN TO NOW A 60% CHANCE OF RAINFALL TODAY, 50% TOMORROW. THEN SATURDAY AND SUNDAY, MORE SO TALKING ABOUT A 40% COVERAGE OF RAINFALL. BUT WE’RE STILL WHAT ARE WE WATCHING? A FLOODING PORTEND? WELL, ALMOST AREA WIDE TODAY. TOMORROW, STILL LOOKING LIKE OUR CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN LOCATIONS FOR SOME THAT COULD POTENTIALLY GIVE US SOME HEAVIER RAIN AND LOCALIZED FLOODING. NOW, OUT THE DOOR THIS MORNING, CENTRAL AND WESTERN SPOTS DRY. IT’S REALLY ALONG I-95 THAT WE’RE TRACKING SHOWERS AND NOW EVEN A COUPLE OF THUNDERSTORMS. ALABAMA ISLAND, SO SCATTERED RAIN FROM NEW SMYRNA BEACH SANDS TO LA ALL THE WAY OVER TO THE LAND, WORKING THROUGH VOLUSIA COUNTY, UP TOWARDS FLAGLER COUNTY INTO PALM COAST AND MARINELAND, EVEN SEEING SOME SHOWERS. THE PEARSON AND ASTOR AREA, ONE TINY THUNDERSTORM AROUND MERRITT ISLAND, ROCKLEDGE AND COCOA. THIS WILL SLOWLY DRIFT NORTH. BUT BECAUSE OF THAT HEAVIER RAINFALL. JUST BE CAREFUL OF SOME PONDING ON THE ROADWAYS. AND THEN FROM PALM BAY ALMOST TOWARDS CAYMANS, BILL, SEEING SOME SHOWERS AS WELL. SO WE’LL CONTINUE TRACK RAIN THROUGHOUT THE MORNING AND LATE MORNING, EARLY AFTERNOON. THAT IS JUST SCATTERED RAINFALL DAY OR HOUR BY HOUR. ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE EVENING HOURS. AGAIN, UP TO ABOUT A 60% COVERAGE IN RAINFALL. QUICK CHECK OF TEMPERATURES THIS MORNING INTO THE SEVENTIES WITH HIGHS TODAY INTO THE LOW AND MID EIGHTIES. TOMORROW WE’RE AT 86 DEGREES AND EVEN WARMER THIS WEEKEND JUST BECAUSE OF RAIN. CHANCES ARE GOING DOWN 87 SATURDAY AND SUNDAY AND THEN OUR LOW PULLS AWAY NEXT WEEK, WHICH WILL BRING IN DR

Our rain chances could decrease this weekend as area of low pressure moves south

It’s a cloudy start with a few light showers this morning. Our rain chances will be on the rise again this afternoon and evening. Up to a 60% coverage is expected. A lot of the model data is suggesting our area of low pressure will dive south this week/weekend which would decrease our rain chances. Due to this, I have dropped the precip to a 50% chance of rain tomorrow and a 40% chance of rain going into the weekend. Things look to turn drier for next week. An isolated shower or two is possible Monday – Wednesday, and highs will be in the upper 80s to lower 90s.TROPICS: Our area of low pressure is now called “Invest 91-L”. The NHC has this system at a low chance of formation in the next 2 and 7 days. It could be a rain maker for South Florida as it moves south then east. We’ll continue to watch our rain chances now that this is moving south. If trends continue, it could turn our forecast drier.
