ORLANDO, Fla. — MegaCon Orlando, the large pop culture fan convention, returns to the Orange County Convention Center this weekend.

The event features celebrity guests, panels, cosplay contests, 400,000 square feet of shopping, and more, runs March 30 through April 2.

If you’re among the tens of thousands of fans expected to attend this year, here are a few things you should know before you go.

CELEBRITY GUESTS

There will be plenty of celebrities at the convention this year, including Christina Ricci, Giancarlo Esposito, Rosario Dawson, Hayden Christensen, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Gwendoline Christie, and James McAvoy.

Neve Campbell, Matthew Millard, Skeet Ulrich and Jamie Kennedy will meet with fans during scheduled photo-ops and participate in a “Scream” panel Sunday afternoon.

The guest list doesn’t just include actors. Fans can also meet many notable comic artists, including Frank Miller, Geoff Johns, Joe Quesada and Jeph Loeb.

FAMILY ACTIVITIES

A number of activities geared toward kids and families are scheduled for this year’s event. Attendees can join Fairy Godmother for songs and story time, learn how to draw and play Simon Says for prizes.

Other family-friendly activities include Padawan Training, a Harry Potter Sorting Ceremony and a Kids’ cosplay contest.

SPECIAL EVENTS

MegaCon will also have special events that give fans an even closer interaction with some of the scheduled celebrity guests. One special event this year will be a panel with Frank Miller on April 1. Miller will celebrate the 25th anniversary of his comic 300 by discussing the art and history that inspired it.

Greg Sestero, who starred as Mark in “The Room,” will hold an interactive screening of the film on March 31. Sestero will also participate in a live, on-stage script reading.

TICKETS

The four-day MegaCon passes are sold out, however, single-day tickets are still available. Prices, for adults, are $28 for Thursday, $49 for Friday, $65 for Saturday and $54 for Sunday.

Youth single-day tickets, for children ages 13-17, are sold out for Saturday and Sunday. However, tickets are still available for Thursday ($23) and Friday ($39).

Child single-day tickets, for children ages 6-12 are still available for all days and are priced at $13.

Autograph and photo sessions must be purchased separately.

PARKING

It’s expected to be a busy weekend for MegaCon. And parking lots are expected to fill up fast. This year, MegaCon is offering attendees the option to pre-purchase their parking. There are four designated lots where spots can be secured in advance: Lot 1 (North/South side of the convention center), Lot 2 (Destination Garage), Lot 3 (Epic Offsite) and Lot 6 (Rosen College Offsite).

Lot 1 is sold out for all days except Thursday. Lot 2 and Lot 6 are both sold out for Saturday.
