Orlando Health hospital receives Magnet recognition, celebrates nursing excellence

ORLANDO, Fla. — One local hospital celebrated its national achievement this week.

Orlando Health Orlando Regional Medical Center was awarded the Magnet recognition in February, the highest national honor for nursing excellence.

The American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Magnet Recognition Program evaluated the staff.

The group found a commitment to nurses’ well-being and a strong bond among the unit.

They also praised nurses and hospital staff for their professionalism and teamwork in caring for their patients.

Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies also received Magnet recognition.

According to a news release, only a select number of organizations nationwide have received this distinction.

Magnet recognition is a gold standard for healthcare organizations and shows high-quality care and nurse retention.

ORMC is the only Level One Trauma Center in Orlando.
