Therapy Dog For Orland Park Police Up For Grant to Continue to Bring Comfort to Community
Law enforcement therapy dogs across the country are up for a major grant this week, that could help them continue to do important work in the communities they live in. One of those comfort dogs is Leo, the therapy dog for the Orland Park Police Department. Leo has been with the department since 2021. In those two short years, he has made a significant impression in the area.
Annual La Grange Pet Parade returns for its 77th year
The 77th annual La Grange Pet Parade kicks of today at 9:30 a.m. Families and children bring their pets from dogs to goldfish and snakes. Organizations build floats to march with in the parade. Money raised helps buy a service animal for a veteran in need every year.

Oak Park, a village in Illinois, is celebrating Juneteenth, an occasion considered by many as the true anniversary of emancipation in the United States. The Village’s Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is sponsoring a Juneteenth Youth Arts Contest, inviting artists aged 18 and younger to create a work of art that embodies Juneteenth and why it is important. Winners in elementary, middle and high school age groups will receive a cash prize. The deadline to submit is June 12. The in-person festivities begin with a flag-raising ceremony on June 14 and continue with a parade and community cookout on June 18.
Ready to Rock Ribbon Cutting in Downtown Joliet

Fine Arts Festival turns 50
