Orangeburg Co. School District to provide free summer meals for children

ORANGEBURG, S.C. (WOLO)—Free meals for children 18 years and younger will be provided during the summer as part of Orangeburg Co. School District’s Summer Meals Program.

The meals include breakfast and/or lunch and will be available from June 8—June 29 at several OCSD schools. Depending on participation, certain locations will extend the program until July 13.

Breakfast will be served from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m., and lunch from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. each week Monday through Thursday. Schools will be closed on Fridays and on July 4.

The Summer Meals Program aims to ensure that every child has access to nutritious food, especially when school is out of session, say school officials.

The following locations will be participating in the Summer Meals Program:

1 Brookdale Elementary School – 394 Brookdale Dr. Orangeburg, SC
2 Dover Elementary School – 1421 Bedford Ave. North, SC
3 Edisto High School – 500 RM Foster Drive Cordova, SC
4 Holly Hill Elementary School – 1490 Brant Ave. Holly Hill, SC
5 Lake Marion High School – 3556 Teevee Road Santee, SC
6 Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School – 601 Bruin Parkway Orangeburg, SC
