SLED investigating shots fired incident at Low Country college

A shooting at a college in the Low Country over the weekend is under SLED investigation. Police responded to South Carolina State University in Orangeburg around 1130 PM, Saturday night.

The campus was put on lockdown from the report of shots fired, the lockdown was lifted around 3AM, Sunday morning. Investigators say a surveillance camera captured images of the suspect vehicle.

SLED was called in to help with the investigation, thus far, no arrests have been announced. No injuries were reported in the incident and no further details were available as of the time of this report.

The University says it will hold an emergency meeting Monday night, where school officials will address concerns and answer questions.
