Undeterred by the uncertainty of her future , Aya adopted a pragmatic approach, tackling each obstacle with unwavering determination.
Enduring rigorous treatment to combat the tumor in her arm, Aya embarked on a grueling regimen of chemotherapy sessions every three weeks, enduring lengthy hospital stays.
“I did everything on my laptop,” Aya recounted, describing how she juggled hospital visits and schoolwork. “Having the distraction of schoolwork, to be able to focus on something else really helped.”
Furthermore, her academic achievements caught the attention of the Tom Coughlin Jay Fund Foundation , an organization dedicated to supporting children with cancer, which awarded her a scholarship to NYU.
With cancer now in remission for two years, Aya looks toward the future with optimism and determination.
