6 injured in Orange County hit-and-run crash involving bus

Crash happened on South Orange Blossom Trail and Miller Avenue

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Six people were injured Tuesday morning in a hit-and-run crash involving a bus in Orange County, according to fire rescue officials.

The crash happened around 10:38 a.m. between a vehicle and bus on South Orange Blossom Trail and Miller Avenue. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a black sedan was traveling west on Miller Avenue approaching Orange Blossom Trail at the same time a bus was traveling north on on Orange Blossom Trail approaching Miller Avenue.

Troopers said the sedan driver failed to halt at a stop sign while making a left turn and collided with the bus.

Orange County Fire Rescue said 11 people were on the bus at the time of the wreck. Six of those bus passengers were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, according to troopers.

Troopers added that while the bus driver remained at the scene, the sedan driver continued southbound on Orange Blossom Trail after the crash. According to the FHP, the sedan sustained damage to its left side.

The southbound lanes were still blocked as of 11:30 a.m., troopers said.

This crash remains under investigation.
