Investigators said a 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes, and a semi truck driver attempted to avoid the collision.The vehicles collided head on and caught fire, authorities said.The driver of the Tahoe, identified as Vincent Macias, needed to be extricated by Omaha Fire Department, according to Omaha police.Macias was transported to the University of Nebraska Medical Center, and was later declared dead, according to law enforcement.Omaha police said the semi truck driver was able to exit the truck.Multiple firetrucks were called to the scene to help extinguish the flames.The crash is still under investigation.The eastbound lanes were closed between exits 12 and 13 for about seven hours.Get the latest headlines from KETV NewsWatch 7

A 32-year-old man died in a fiery crash on Interstate 680 in Omaha early Friday morning.

Officials said a semi-truck collided with an SUV around 2:30 a.m. in the eastbound lanes near Mormon Bridge Road.

Investigators said a 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes, and a semi truck driver attempted to avoid the collision.

The vehicles collided head on and caught fire, authorities said.
