FBI offering reward after Omaha religious centers receive threats of violence
The FBI is offering a reward of up to $15,000 for information related to threats to religious centers in Omaha.
In December, the St. John Paul II Newman Center, located near 72nd and Pacific streets, and Christ Community Church, located near 108th Avenue and Interstate 680, reported threatening notes found on their door.
According to authorities, the author of the note claims to represent Jane's Revenge — an abortion rights extremist group that Homeland Security has linked to arson attacks against buildings of ideological opponents.
The note at the Newman Center read: "If our right to abortion in Bellevue is taken away due to the attempt to pass an abortion ban and it gets passed we will shoot up your Newman center with our new AR14 rifles. Sincerely, Jane's revenge."
The note at the Christ Community Church read: "If the abortion ban goes into effect in Bellevue we’re going to shoot up your church with our AR14 rifles. Sincerely, Jane’s revenge."
Investigators said a 1998-2004 tan/silver Chevrolet S10 pickup truck is believed to be a vehicle of interest.
