One dead, three injured following crash in Omaha on Tuesday
One woman dies and three other people are taken to the hospital after a crash involving three cars Tuesday afternoon.
It happened at 1:43 p.m. near 50th Street and NW Radial Highway.
Investigators say, Robert Williams, 78, was driving a Kia Forte and tried to turn left onto 50th Street from the far right turn lane on NW Radial.
According to officers, a Nissan Altima was forced to swerve to avoid hitting the Kia and then crashed about 150 feet away from the intersection.
Officers say the Kia then continued to make its turn, but this time, it was hit by a Ford F-150 pickup truck.
The passenger of the Kia, Melody Stephens, 76, was taken to the hospital, where she died.
All three drivers involved were also taken to the hospital. They are expected to survive.
Northwest Radial Highway was closed in both directions from 49th to 50th Street, but has since reopened.
