Creighton women's basketball players showcase a Runza for The Kelly Clarkson Show's Snack Bracket
Two Creighton women's basketball players appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show on Tuesday to showcase a Runza.
Jayme Horan and Morgan Maly shared a Runza with Kelly Clarkson as part of her Snack Bracket, which is a tournament of "beloved regional foods."
The Runza was competing against Cincinnati Chili from Ohio, represented by Xavier's Adam Kunkel.
Clarkson sampled the chili first.
"Cincinnati Chili ... it's really the best place to go out to eat in my opinion," Kunkel said.
Clarkson then tried the Runza as Horan and Maly delivered their pitch.
"I would describe a Runza as a warm, soft, buttery meat roll," Maly said. "The outer breading encapsulates the inner ingredients."
Horan added: "It's a little ball of heaven that is warm. This is a staple for our team and the state of Nebraska. Everyone knows a Runza is legit."
Clarkson picked the Runza to advance to the next round over Cincinnati Chili.
"This is a fancy Hot Pocket that I'm into," Clarkson said.
The winner of the Snack Bracket tournament, which will be announced on Friday, receives the "final fork" trophy.
