The Omaha Correctional Center reported the death of an inmate Tuesday afternoon.Officials said 36-year-old Samantha Brooke, an OCC inmate, died at an Omaha hospital.The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services hasn't said how she died.Winters' sentence began March 8, 2010; she was serving 15-20 years for attempted first-degree sexual assault in Seward County.Jan. 12, 2017, marked her parole eligibility, and she was scheduled to be released on Jan. 8, 2026.NDCS said a grand jury investigation would be completed, as is standard practice when an inmate dies in custody.
