CURRICULUM THIS FALL AFTER FACULTY TRAINED ON IT. TIME NOW 7 TO 5 FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE 1941, THE CREIGHTON MEN’S BASKETBALL TEAM WILL APPEAR IN AN ELITE EIGHT DURING MARCH MADNESS. AND THEY HOPE TO CONTINUE MAKING HISTORY. KETV NEWSWATCH SEVENS. CAL LAWSON IS ON CAMPUS THIS CAMPUS THIS MORNING WITH A PREVIEW OF THE GAME. GOOD MORNING, KAYLIE JONES. WHAT AN EXCITING TIME TO BE IN OMAHA. TO BE IN NEBRASKA, TO BE A CREIGHTON FAN. THE JAYS GOING FOR THEIR FIRST EVER FINAL FOUR APPEARANCE LATER THIS AFTERNOON. OF COURSE, THEY NEED TO GET THROUGH THE AZTECS OF SAN DIEGO STATE, A TEAM THEY’RE NOT UNFAMILIAR WITH. BUT NOT NECESSARILY WELL VERSED IN. IN PROGRAM HISTORY, CREIGHTON IS FIVE AND THREE AGAINST SAN DIEGO STATE, INCLUDING A TWO AND ONE RECORD ON NEUTRAL COURTS. THE LAST TIME THESE TWO MET WAS NEARLY A YEAR AGO WHEN THEY FACED OFF IN THE FIRST ROUND OF LAST YEAR’S MARCH MADNESS. CREIGHTON PULLING OFF THE UPSET 72 TO 69. THE JAYS TRAIL. In a repeat of the first round of 2022's March Madness the Creighton Bluejays look to advance past the San Diego Aztecs Sunday afternoon. Both programs are seeking their first Final Four appearance in program history.Creighton advanced to the Elite Eight following wins over North Carolina State, Baylor and Princeton. The Aztecs knocked off Charleston, Furman and No. 1 seed Alabama."They might not know where Omaha or Nebraska is but we have a good basketball team there," Creighton big-man Ryan Kalkbrenner told KETV's sports team. "I think we showed people we have a really good team and can win a bunch of games here in March."The teams met most recently in 2022 - Creighton was a nine seed and defeated San Diego State - the eight seed - by three.Creighton is 5-3 all-time against the Aztecs including a 1-2 record on neutral courts. The winner will take on Florida Atlantic University in Houston.
