The North Decatur Chargers was the last team standing once the dust settled at the 1A Jac-Cen-Del baseball sectional on. In the first semi-final of the day, the Chargers routed the host Eagles 12-0. Brayden Hancock’s stellar outing on the mound played a major role in North Decatur’s win. The sophomore gave up just 1 hit in the shutout win.

FCHS Baseball defeated Batesville last night in game 3 of the IHSAA Baseball Sectional hosted by Franklin County at Jim Hughes Field. Franklin County’s varsity softball team fell to East Central in their regular season finale on Friday evening by a final score of 4 – 0. The Wildcats were unable to get much going offensively against the strong pitching of the Trojans. Franklin County was only able to record three hits in the game, and didn’t get a base runner until the top of the fourth inning. Kiersten Schell, Kensee Ferman, and Bailey Kaiser all singled for the Wildcats.
