An Oklahoma woman is now in the top 10 for a national fitness competition.
Jody Huggins is up for the title of Ms. Health and Fitness.
Huggins is the mother of a four-year-old, a nurse, and she just took up bodybuilding last year.
Huggins' mom was a bodybuilder too, which Huggins says helped her on her own journey to fitness.
"I grew up in gyms all over the world," Huggins said. "We lived in New Zealand, Canada, the U.S., and she'd just take me along and I'd watch my mom train."
Huggins' mom was a Canadian National heavyweight champion in the early 2000s. Though Huggins grew up in gyms, she didn't start her own body-building journey until last year.
"I was training out of my garage," Huggins said.
With the help of two trainers from the U.K., Chris and Charlie, and the newly-opened Four Star Fitness in Guthrie, Huggins no longer has to train in her garage.
"I'm very appreciative of the gym, Four Star Fitness and the nice environment they provide," she said.
Huggins and two other Oklahoma women are up for the title of Ms. Health and Fitness.
The winner of the competition will take home $20,000 in cash and will be featured on the cover of Muscle and Fitness Hers Magazine.

On top of that, she's hoping to make it to a national competition in December.
"I don't plan to place or anything, I just want to get out there and try," she said.
