Charles Barkley's ruthless troll after Pelicans Game 3 loss: 'Send them to Galveston'

The New Orleans Pelicans' performance in a third consecutive playoff loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder was demoralizing enough on its own, but Inside the NBA Host Charles Barkley made sure to twist the knife.

Coming out of a break with Shaquille O'Neal already on the verge of laughter, Barkley launched into his takedown of the Pelicans' showing.

“We’re not even gonna send them to Cancun, we’re gonna send them to Galveston, where that dirty-ass water be washing up on the shore and people think they at the the beach," he said, with the rest of the panel dissolving in laughter. "Y’all, we ain’t even gonna send y’all to Cancun. ... Y’all quit, drive your ass down to Galveston. Come on man. They didn’t even try, man. We not giving y’all no plane tickets to the beach."

Barkley's disdain for the Texas beach town wasn't explained in the brutal, but hardly unfair assessment of New Orleans' showing in what history would show was a must-win game at home. The Pelicans fell 106-85 for their second consecutive loss by more than 20 points. The Pelicans have yet to score more than 92 points in any game.

No team has ever come back from a 3-0 deficit in a playoff series, which is what faces the Pelicans when they return to the Smoothie King Center on Sunday.
