Oklahoma City police say a woman and her dog were attacked while walking near Lake Hefner.
It all started when she yelled at a driver to slow down.
Police say the driver got out of the car and stabbed her dog.
Neighbors say they don't remember seeing Shannon Deck in the neighborhood before.
"It gets to be a little uncomfortable knowing we still have that type of characteristic out there," neighbor Chach Bolen said.
A woman just walking her dog along Portland and NW 65th yells at Deck, who was driving, to slow down.
Witnesses say he gets out screaming at the woman with a knife and stabs the dog.
The dog runs off.
"I don’t know if anywhere is safe anymore, to be honest with you," Bolen said. "They start killing dogs and stabbing them for no reason, that tells you where life is going right?"
Witnesses playing a big part in catching this guy, police say.
"There were several passersby that contacted police and it appeared a male was assaulting a woman in the area," MSgt. Dillon Quirk said.
Police are working to figure out what happened to the dog.
Neighbors tell us they see the woman walking her dogs often.
Police aren't calling this a road rage incident right now, they are still trying to figure out what Deck's motive was.
