Meteorological fall is here, but summer isn’t giving up just yet. Temperatures will stay well into the 80s through much of the week and Labor Day weekend, and it will turn increasingly humid again. A few isolated storms possible tonight
It has been a warm and muggier day today as a cold front is taking its time to move south through the area. Right now, that cold front is nearing I-90, and will slowly move into northern Iowa tonight. Now, the majority of us are going to stay dry the rest of the night, but a few isolated storms will be possible along and south of I-90 and closer to that front. There is a low severe threat if a few storms can develop, with wind and hail the primary threats. Timing wise, it is looking like the best chance for a few isolated storms to develop will be from 6pm through midnight. After midnight, we all clear out and it will be a very comfortable night, with lows dropping into the 50s.
