Driver struck moped before fleeing on foot, says troopers
Florida Highway Patrol says a hit-and-run crash in Marion County seriously injured a moped rider, and now troopers need the public’s help in finding the driver responsible.
The crash in question took place just after midnight on Wednesday on US-441 near SE 73rd Street. There, investigators say a black Cadillac sedan struck an orange moped before the driver fled the scene on foot.
A description of the driver is not available.
The moped rider, a 28-year-old Ocala man, was transported to Ocala Regional Hospital with serious injuries.
