Florida Highway Patrol says a hit-and-run crash in Marion County seriously injured a moped rider, and now troopers need the public’s help in finding the driver responsible. The crash in question took place just after midnight on Wednesday on US-441 near SE 73rd Street. There, investigators say a black Cadillac sedan struck an orange moped before the driver fled the scene on foot.A description of the driver is not available.The moped rider, a 28-year-old Ocala man, was transported to Ocala Regional Hospital with serious injuries.Troopers ask that anyone with information call the FHP Communication Center at 1-800-387-1290 or dial *FHP (*347).
