Obion County Schools Honors Retirees
Union City, Tenn.–Obion County Schools celebrated the retirement of two of their favorite people Friday. Julie Kendall, Student Database Administrator, and Diane Terry, Front Desk Receptionist, will be leaving before the new school year begins to hit the road in their campers. Obion County Central’s Olin Johnson fell to Tobias Mandeville in the Class 1A tennis semi-finals at the TSSAA Spring Fling on Thursday. Mandeville, of Merrol Hyde, won the match 2-0. Mandeville will now face Ethan Porterfield, of CSAS, in the championship on Friday.

Recent Grads Learn More About Distracted Driving
Union City, Tenn.–Recent Obion County Central High School graduates who attended Project Graduates participated in a simulated distracted driving exercise using the Driving Simulator provided by the Tennessee Highway Safety Office. According to the Obion County Sheriff’s Office, teen drivers are four times more likely to be involved a distracted driving crash than adults. It’s important to take every opportunity to teach them the dangers of picking up their phones behind the wheel.
