Riverside girls coming off first win in six years, continuing to grow
(Oakland) -- The Riverside girls soccer is eager to build off the program's first win in 2,177 days. The Bulldogs (1-5) entered Saturday on a 31-match losing streak, with last win on May 8th, 2018, when they defeated Logan-Magnolia. They went 0-11 in 2019, did not have a team in 2020, went 0-12 in 2021 and did not field a team in the past two seasons before reviving the program this season.
Cougar Boy’s Golf Wins CAM Invite as Riverside Girls Take First on Tuesday
(Anita, IA) – At Crestwood Hills Golf Club in Anita, the CAM boys were able to take first place overall after shooting 171 while the Riverside girls took first after shooting an even 200. Earning the top spot for the boys was Chase Jahde of CAM who shot a 38 on the day. Coming right behind him was Riverside’s Taven Moore who shot a 41 overall. On the girl’s side, Addison Brink shot a 39 for Riverside while CAM’s Jenna Platt shot 50 on the evening. You can find all the results below.
Riverside Girls Golf Takes a Victory While the Boys Fall to Missouri Valley
(Oakland, IA) – At the Oakland-Riverside Golf Course on Monday evening, the Riverside girl’s golf team was able to capture another victory after beating Missouri Valley 203-215 while the boys fell 162-174. Leading the way on the girl’s side for the Bulldogs was Addison Brink who shot a 41 and was named a medalist while Missouri Valley’s Hanley Arbaugh shot 45 and earned runner-up. Missouri Valley swept things on the boy’s side as Jackson Tennis shot 36 and was named a medalist while Evan White shot 40 on the day as the runner-up. You can find all the results below.
Back-to-Back Meet Action for AHSTW Boy’s Track and Field
(Avoca, IA) – AHSTW boy’s track and field have already jumped into track and field action this week while finishing third as a team overall in last night’s meet at Woodbine. Head Coach Jackson Renberg was happy with the night his boys had out on the track including Luke Sternberg in the 200m dash, Gavin Newcomb in the 110m hurdles, and the relay teams in the 4x200m relay, 4x800m relay, and the shuttle hurdle.

The latest Jim Hughes Real Estate KMAland Male Athlete of the Week will go against the state's best at this weekend's Drake Relays when he runs in the 110 meter hurdles, 4x100 meter relay and shuttle hurdle relay.
Nodaway Valley Boy’s and Girl’s Golf Takes a Victory Over Griswold
(Griswold, IA) – At the Griswold Golf and Country Club, the Griswold Tigers fell to Nodaway Valley in both boy’s and girl’s golf action. The boys beat Griswold 190-210 while the girls scored a total of 223. The medalist for the boy’s was Zack Gebbie of Nodaway Valley who shot 44 while the runner-up, Hogan Hook of Griswold, shot a 46. Griswold's Millikan finds perfect blend of athletics, academics at Iowa Western
(Griswold) -- Griswold star pitcher Karly Millikan found the blend of athletics and academics at Iowa Western that she was looking for in a school. “I’ve always known that I wanted to do nursing and struggled to find a fit,” Millikan told KMA Sports. “Iowa Western is allowing me to do both nursing and play softball. They were really supportive of that, and it was a key factor for me. I was already kind of familiar with Iowa Western’s program because I’ve done college classes through there as a high school student.”

(Griswold, IA) – Griswold golf has already had a busy week with golf matchups on Monday and Tuesday. Glenwood Boys Track Team Captures Team Title at Ram Relays: Shenandoah Second, Atlantic, Third
(Glenwood) Glenwood defended their home track on Monday night. The Rams won seven events, finished second in five others, and scored 170.50 points. Glenwood won three of the four field events. Payton Longmeyer jumped 21-01.00 to win the Long Jump, Chase Razor went 5-10.00 for the win in the High Jump, and Reagan Skarnulis won the Shot Put with a toss of 52-08.00. Glenwood Girls’ Win Title at Home Meet: Lewis Central Second, Atlantic Third
(Glenwood) Danika Arnold’s three sprint gold medals helped Glenwood win the team title on Monday at the COED Ram Relays in Glenwood won nine events and piled up 186 points. Arnold won the 100, 200, and 400-meter races, Grace Berglund won the 3,000, Breckyn Petersen won the 400-meter Hurdles, and Jaylynn Floyd won the High Jump. Additionally, the Rams won the Shuttle Hurdle, 4×200-meter relays, and 4×400-meter Relays.
Atlantic Boy’s Top Harlan in H10 Golf
(Atlantic) Hudson McLaren and Tristan Hayes led Atlantic to a 153 to 176 win over Harlan on Tuesday in a boys’ match at the Atlantic Golf and Country Club. McLaren medaled with a 37, and Hayes finished runner-up medalist with a 38. Brady Wood and Roth Den Beste added to the scoring with 39s. Gage Gross carded a 41, and Sam Brosam posted a score of 42.
