Oakland Police Arrest Antioch Man in April Fatal Shooting

The Oakland Police Department announced the arrest of an Antioch man in connection with a fatal shooting. He was arrested on June 1 in the City of Stockton.

According to Oakland Police, they arrested Sean Bryant for the homicide of Lannie Ross, which occurred on April 9, 2023, in the 3200 block of Filbert Street.

Due to the hard work and combined efforts of OPD officers assigned to the Violent Crime Operations Center (VCOC), Homicide Investigators, and the US Marshals Task Force, Bryant was safely taken into custody.

The Alameda County District Attorney’s Office charged Bryant with the crime.

Background:

The Oakland Police Department (OPD) is investigating a homicide on April 9, 2023, just after 7:00 p.m. in the 3200 block of Filbert Street.

Officers responded to the area following a ShotSpotter activation. When officers arrived, they located a victim who had sustained a gunshot wound(s).

Medical professionals responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.

A Homicide callout was initiated, and the investigators responded to begin the follow-up investigation into the circumstances surrounding the homicide. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification to the next of kin.
