Last week the A's booster club, the "Oakland 68's" started fundraising for a t-shirt giveaway for the June 13th "reverse boycott" game. The goal is to raise $25k in order to print 5,000 shirts to hand out. At last check, $18k has been raised for the giveaway, with many A's fans from out-of-state, and fans of other teams donating to the cause.

The shirt design is simple, as is its message. "Sell."

The reverse boycott is being done in an effort to show A's ownership and the baseball world that there are in fact plenty of A's fans in Oakland. The way that John Fisher has treated the fan base since he took over the team is the reason that the team's attendance is so bad, not because people stopped loving this team. There will also be a large swath of fans in attendance that will be wearing their brand new "sell" t-shirts during the game, which should make plenty of headlines and grab quite a few eyeballs to the situation going on with the A's potential move to Las Vegas.

As things sit right now, the A's ballpark bill (SB509) is still awaiting a vote. The deadline for that vote could be June 5th, when the Nevada legislature closes, but there is also the chance of it being brought up during a special session. If the bill passes, it would appear as though the A's fate in Oakland would be sealed.

Another big "if" here is that if SB509 heads to a special session down the road, could the demonstration and the message fans are trying to send on June 13th potentially resonate with lawmakers that have been on the fence? Nobody seems terribly thrilled to be welcoming the current version of the A's--led by Fisher--to Nevada in the first place.

On Sunday in Pasadena, Wild Parrot Brew Co. is donating one dollar per pint sold to the fan t-shirt fund.

The shirts are being made at cost and not being sold. They are also being produced by popular local apparel store, Oaklandish. They will be handed out at the game, so if you want one of them, you have to be in attendance.
