Rangers Defeat Tigers 5-4
The Rangers knocked off the Tigers on the road. Texas defeated Detroit 5-4 at Comerica Park. Josh Smith drove-in the game-winning run on an RBI single in the top of the ninth. Adolis Garcia and Jonah Heim both finished with two RBIs. Kirby Yates earned his second win of the season after throwing four strikeouts through one-and-a-third innings to close it out. The Rangers are now 10-and-9. They will close out their four-game series against Detroit this afternoon.

NEW YORK – Lady Vols basketball history was made Monday when Rickea Jackson was selected No. 4 overall by the Los Angeles Sparks in the 2024 WNBA Draft. Jackson, who won the 2019 Michigan Miss Basketball out of Detroit Edison, is the first winner of that award selected in the draft since Kyrse Gondrezick (2016; Benton Harbor) in 2021.

Detroit City FC advances to Round of 32 in U.S. Open Cup after 1-0 win over Michigan Stars FC
It took until extra time for the first goal to be scored as Detroit City FC faced Michigan Stars FC in the third round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on Tuesday night. Maxi Rodriguez scored in the 93rd minute, setting Le Rouge up for the 1-0 victory over the Stars. Detroit now advances to the round of 32 in the Open Cup.
