(WBBM NEWSRADIO) – Police in south suburban Oak Lawn are asking for the public’s help in identifying three suspects who robbed a jewelry store Monday after cutting a hole through an adjoining space and confronting the store owner.

The male suspects entered an empty business next to Ramallah Jewelry, 8741 S. Ridgeland, in the afternoon and cut a hole in the wall leading into the retail site next door, Oak Lawn police said in a bulletin that included surveillance images.

When the owner arrived, they displayed a handgun and demanded keys to the safe and display cases, officials said. The suspects made off with jewelry after striking the owner with a blunt object.

The owner was treated on the scene for minor injuries.

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call 708-907-4051 or text information to 708-613-8477.
