Clarksville Elite gymnasts set records at state, will compete at nationals
CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – After competing in regionals this past weekend, three gymnasts from the Clarksville Elite Gymnastics Center qualified for the USA East National Championship in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Lunden Lowe, Lena Spencer and Ally Suss will each compete May 2-5 for chance to become national champions.

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – On Monday, April 15, the Clarksville High Wildcats hosted the Rossview High Hawks for a rivalry matchup between two teams currently ranked in the top 5 in the state of Tennessee. In the first of a two-game series, Rossview High secured an early lead, but the Wildcats scored seven unanswered runs to win the game 7-2. A sold-out crowd made the atmosphere electric early on. To kick off the game, at the top of the first inning, Rossview High first baseman Houston Hebert unloaded on a two-run home run to give the Hawks a 2-0 lead.

Kenwood and Hyde Park girls basketball coaches both named coach of the year
Andre Lewis and Corey Morgan, coaches for the rivaling girls basketball teams of Kenwood and Hyde Park Academy, go way back. More than a decade ago, before they faced each other on South Side high school courts, they actually worked together. They met during a Chicago Hoops Express practice in 2009 where Lewis was coaching. They clicked instantly: within the year, Morgan was on Lewis’ coaching staff.
